UC Berkely – Scholarships for Research in South Asian Studies

TELSA, representing the Telugu-speaking community of America, is doing forward-thinking and critical work as a distinguished member of the Telugu and broader South Asian community. UC Berkeley Institute of South Asian Studies (ISAS) appreciated our dedication and effort to raising funds (donated $100,000 till 2026) towards the establishment of a Telugu Chair at UC Berkeley, as well as the creation of the TELSA Awards to provide research travel grants to students working in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. These initiatives help sustain and grow ISAS’s Telugu Studies Initiative, making an essential contribution to producing future generations of scholars whose work advocates for the study of Telugu language, culture, and society at Berkeley, the United States, and beyond.
